Thought Process:
I wanted to draw a portrait without being locked into traditional colors associated with “people.” It’s always hard for me to not use colors linked to the human skin when painting portraits. It’s what’s comfortable to me after all. This was an attempt to split the colors, using more warm colors on the left and colder on the right.
